Top Green Driving Tips

Below are just a few Green Driving Tips.  For a more complete list please read

Beating the EPA - The Why’s and how to Hypermile   created by Wayne Gerdes the person who first coined the word Hypermiler.

1) Slow Down - Driving at 65 instead of the usual 75 on the highway can save as much as $25.00 on a 500 mile trip. So it will take an hour longer. You just made $25.00/Hour.

2) Avoid Rapid Acceleration- Drive like you had an egg taped to the gas pedal.

3) Avoid Rapid Stops - Drive like you had an egg taped to the break pedal. Try to keep the car moving. Look way ahead and slow down (put your car in neutral) to time the lights or when coming to a stop.

4) Avoid Excessive Idling - Don’t waste gas warming your car up. If you live in the warmer climates, begin driving slowly as soon as you start your engine.(Be careful not to accelerate until your engine has had time to warm up) If you live were it’s cold, invest in an engine warmer. Shut engine off if stopped for more than 30 seconds.

5) Avoid unnecessary Trips - Do you really need to go to the store right now? Make a list and go on you way home from work tomorrow. Car pool when possible.
